The Rough Draft

If you can't go through it. Go around it.

It’s been a few weeks since I’ve posted up some pictures.  It’s not that I haven’t been shooting but more about how some shots are personal and only need to be shared in the proper venue.  I shot a bunch of stuff for the 30 year grad reunion and I would have posted something up about it but realistically what can you really say about the place you come from without sounding like a bit of a dick.  So I decided to say nothing.  I had a good time, I saw some people who I hadn’t seen in a very long time and heard about their lives and I took a bunch of pictures.  I did pick up a Gary Fong LightSphere to help me out and it did an admirable job on the flash shots, no red eye in sight.  Looking forward to utilizing it to greater effect in my portraiture.

Fall is drawing in and the Fall colors are starting to really take hold.  I didn’t feel like riding the bike down to one of the local parks to capture some of them so I decided to go down Lower Baseline Rd W and see if I could find some stuff I haven’t seen before.  It turns out that 4 Side road no longer goes all the way through over sixteen mile creek and has been converted into a bike / walking path.  But first I got some textural work done at a derelict barn I came across,

Nothing but stubble left in the fields now.

Fall colors from the base of the old road.

Looking up the other side. I like the way the light is coming through the leaves here.

Here my Lensbaby Double Glass Optic with the f5.6 insert gives a nice sort of Lomo feel to the shot of the walking bridge at the bottom of the gorge.

Looking up the hill with the Lensbaby. I like how their lens coating really brings out the reds and yellows.

The Edge 80 at work.

I’ll be up around Clarrington next week so I’m hoping for some more interesting stuff to shoot while I’m out that way.
