Still working my way around the new camera but it’s pretty obvious Canon put a lot of investment into the sensor package on the current crop. As much as I loved my Rebel XTi (and it went everywhere with me and never let me down) the T2i is vastly better at what it does and I don’t think it has as much to do with the 18Mp as it has to do with the internal settings on the chip itself. I always felt the, “Faithful,” setting on the XTi leaned a bit too far towards dropping the contrast out. The same setting on the T2i is much more WYSIWYG. My real regret is I don’t have a motorcycle race to go and shoot to really put it through its paces.
All of the shots above were taken yesterday and other than a little post work in my photo editor to trim them up and such. They’re pretty much how I took them.
I still don’t have much desire to write right now but I think it’s a combination of being very busy at work and then very busy at home as well. Well that and a wicked Cold I came down with at the start of the long weekend. I can feel stuff percolating but nothing’s ready to be poured into the pot yet.
Next week is my Lancaster flight. So there’ll be photos and video up about that after it happens. My wife asked me if I was nervous. I replied, I was as nervous as anybody about to go up in a sixty eight year old aircraft but seriously, I’m really looking forward to it and dearly hope I get to sit in the rear turret for a bit.
