The Rough Draft

If you can't go through it. Go around it.

So three weeks in give or take and I’ve done very little in regards to writing and to be honest, it feels pretty good.  I’ve got a couple of things working their way through stuff and I’m content to let them do their thing and not worry about it too much.  I needed a break, that much is obvious… now.

Right now I’m just thinking about what I’d like to write about next.  Because for the last few years I’ve been writing what other people want and that gets old.  You get hired for your, “Voice,” and then they do everything in their power to subvert that sound.  Daft really.  Though as they say, “Scratch a producer, find a frustrated writer.”  Though to be honest, “Scratch a writer and you’ll find a frustrated writer who’s now got a nasty scratch.”  I’ve got a couple of scripts from before I’d like to at least finish the rough draft of but I must admit I’m more drawn to some newer stuff and not in the venue of the screenplay.  It’d be interesting to try some prose writing for a change.  Just to see if I’ve still got the chops.

Other than that I’m waiting for the weather to turn and my wife’s work load to ease up so I can get some saddle time in on the bike.
